OUT OF MY MIND: Living Out the Faith

Many centuries ago, God revealed how true faith is lived out in our daily lives. The scriptures say, “What does the Lord require of you but to do justice, to live kindness, and to walk humbly with your God.”

Think about that. Doing justice is working with those who are left out, looked over, abused, oppressed; it means working with the least, the last, and the lost. Loving kindness is being considerate, thoughtful, and actively working for the good of others. Walking humbly with God is seeing God and ourselves in the right perspective, thankful for God’s grace.

Today, when it seems that religious faith is seen as a negative thing and even as being bigoted, I hope we can consider what the scriptures say. Only one person in all of history has lived up to this standard, and that was Jesus. He alone was just, and kind, and walked with God. He alone can help us live out our faith today as a demonstration of what true faith is all about.
